The Floral Abstracts series uses the formal qualities of color, shape, line, rhythm and patterns to create playful and energetic compositions. I'm interested in exploring the balance between abstraction and realistic imagery, creating harmony and balance that is surprising and dynamic. The point at which an image becomes completely non-objective is a fascinating threshold. I'm engaged with investigating endless and evolving combinations of compositional shape, color and patterns and embracing the interplay of these qualities while maintaining a distinct, yet subtle sense of detail. My goal is to create bold yet elegant work that evoke beauty, visual poetry and a sense of joy.
